50 Years and Growing
In the Beginning
Phil and Milt Bruckner opened Wayside in 1951 as a used furniture store. Within a few years, Wayside changed to new furniture, mattresses and appliances. Three rooms of quality furniture were just $599. Those were the good old days!

Phil and Milt kept their overhead and their prices low, offered free delivery and service, long after the sale was made.

Growth and Expansion
Wayside grew and expanded the building in 1970. It was at this time the concept of the sleep shop was pioneered in Southeastern Connecticut. Wayside had the largest selection of beds and mattresses and still does to this day.

Wayside Furniture of Waterford still believes in old fashioned quality and service. We also offer the largest selection of furniture and bedding in the area. Low prices, free delivery and service, long after the sale. It worked in 1951 and still works today.
